About Us

Charity Across South Lake, Inc. was founded in 2020 during the pandemic. We knew that the need would be great during the holiday season, as so many of our South Lake residents were unemployed at that time. We wanted to make an impact in the community in which we lived and served. None of the nonprofits were able to do events that year, so we all decided to come together to make a larger impact. We worked with over 30 nonprofits to make sure that the families that we help serve regularly were taken care of. That year, we were able to help 1,800 children, and served over 750 meals for families in need during the holiday season. 

We realized that it would be difficult for families to buy school supplies for their children that following summer. Again, we teamed up with local nonprofits and filled 3,000 backpacks and delivered them to all 18 South Lake public schools. 
For Christmas 2021, we helped over 2,800 kids, and fed over 1,500 families during the holiday break. We worked with local food banks to help supply groceries for the two-week period that children were out of school, and in each of their Christmas bags they received a book so that they could continue to read during the holiday break. 

Charity Across South Lake realizes that the needs are huge during back-to-school and the holiday time. That is why we focus on those two important times a year. We want to ensure that our children have the supplies that they need to start each new school year with everything, as well as making sure a parent doesn't have to decide between paying the electric bill, feeding the family during the holiday break, or trying to figure out how to give their children presents. We work with families all over South Lake County including Clermont, Minneola, Groveland, Mascotte, Montverde and Four Corners. We continue to grow our partnerships with our local nonprofits, police and fire departments, churches, schools, and food banks. Our goal at Charity Across South Lake is to ensure children are fed and educated in our area.
